Don't Be Boring,
Keep them from Snoring!
During some sessions, it is always a good Idea for you to spice things up. Below I will provide you with a list of different thimgs you can do to make some sessions about work and play.
Head to Head Challenges:
Have the Kids go head to head in completeing a probmem given by you. The goal is to have someone complete the problem first. However it would be a good idead to reward the kids based off of effort. This means even the one who finishes in 2nd palce is still rewarded even if he or she tried.
Snack Time:
Everyone loves food. If the kids accomplish something like a better grade on a quiz or their average grade has increased, reward them with some food! This can go anywhere from pizza parties to a bag of chips and a drink.
Information Booth:
Mini Projects:
Creat some sort of mini project that the kids can do that will involve some of the skills that they have learned from the previous tutor sessions. Make it fun though, they aren't going to want any more exra work.
Altermatume Sessions:
Breaks are always loved. If a kid is doing well and you feel as though they can miss a session hand them a session skip pass. Let them know that this is only for that one time and if they keep improving there will be a lot of rewards given to them becuase of that.
